Simple Life Candles is a luxury candle brand based in Santa Barbara, California. We offer hand-poured, toxin-free, 100% soy candles that are safe for you and kind to our planet.
Simple Life Candles was launched in 2020 by our founder, Karen Lemus-Muench, whose vision for the brand was to create space for women to rest. We believe that the simple things in life are the most beautiful. A sunset, a walk in the forest or a candle-lit bubble bath. However, we understand that in this busy world, life can get crazy and those simple moments can easily pass us by. As women, we tend to wear so many hats and function in so many roles that self-care and taking time to rest can easily become a low priority. We want to change that.
That’s why through our candles we aim to create a peaceful sanctuary for hard-working women to rest, relax and enjoy the simple moments. Our candles are clean-scented and made from 100% soy wax which means they are free of lead, parabens, phthalates, animal derivatives, antimicrobials and synthetic dyes. We even offer an unscented option for those who may be allergic to fragrances.

MEET KAREN
Hola! I’m Karen, Founder of Simple Life Candles. Born and raised in El Salvador, I have always been passionate about two things – community and being in nature.
Back in 2020, when I was furloughed from my job due to covid-19, I felt inspired to create something of my own. I wanted to create a brand that was simply more than a product. I wanted to build a purposeful brand that would impact my community and this earth in a positive way. After a lot of research and experimentation, I decided to create earth-friendly soy candles and in April 2020, Simple Life Candles was born.
After I was furloughed, life slowed down for me and I began to enjoy the simple things that I didn’t have time for before. I went on more hikes, had more bubble-baths and lit more candles and it became evident to me that I needed more of these things in my life. Taking time to take care of myself, changed the way I saw myself and the world around me.
This intention spilled over into Simple Life Candles and I wanted to use my platform as a brand to remind women to pause more in their busy lives and make time for themselves.
This is why our purpose for Simple Life Candles is to “create space for women to rest”. I want you to know that I am rooting for you. I see you hustling and here’s a kind reminder to slow down, pause and take a minute for yourself before you go out there and change the world.

Our mission is to create a peaceful sanctuary for hard-working women through our hand-poured, earth-friendly, 100% soy wax candles, helping them to relax and enjoy the simple moments in life.
Our candles are clean-scented and free of toxins making them safe for you and our packaging includes re-useable glass jars 100% organic cotton muslin bags, recyclable paper and eco-friendly bubble wrap making it kind to our planet.

We care about our community in Santa Barbara and one of the ways we give back is through charity drives such as Santa Barbara Rescue Mission. We also support non-profits such as One Tree Planted.

We believe our clients deserve the best so we ensure that our scents are clean, made from 100% soy wax, slow burning and have both a hot and cold throw. We also ensure that we only work with suppliers who are transparent and uphold similar values as us.
Sustainability
We are on a mission to be kind to our planet. We practice sustainability in our business by using biodegradable materials for our candles, reusable packaging and whenever possible we take a minimalistic approach to our products and packaging to ensure less waste.
